A large crowd is expected at Great Witchingham's Walcis Park ground on Sunday when Norfolk take on Cambridgeshire in the semi-final of the National Counties One Day Trophy.

It will be Norfolk’s first appearance in the semi-finals since they last won the trophy in 2009.

Following a much-improved white ball campaign, Norfolk are looking forward to this big challenge against their old rivals. Norfolk beat Lincolnshire in the quarter-finals after topping their group with three wins from four games. Cambridgeshire also won their group with three wins and went on to beat Suffolk in their quarter-final at Exning Park.

Norfolk have named a squad of 12 and will decide on the final XI before the toss. Josh Cobb is available as his severance agreement with Northamptonshire prevents him from playing against them in any format this season. His new club Worcestershire are visiting Wantage Road to play Northamptonshire on Sunday in the Metro Bank One Day Cup and in the circumstances Worcestershire head coach Alan Richardson has allowed Cobb to play for Norfolk. This is a major boost for Norfolk as the slow bowling all rounder adds real balance to the side and on his day can be a match winner with both bat and ball.

Norfolk head coach Tom New said: "We are delighted that Cobby is available as he can make a real difference to our side. The lads have performed particularly well in white ball cricket this year and we are hoping for another top performance this Sunday. Reaching the final would be a major achievement for this young side.”

Horsford’s Callum Metcalf, who was unavailable due to work commitments for the two Championship games, returns to what is a largely unchanged Norfolk squad.

The 50-over match starts at 11am and supporters are asked to enter the ground via the lane to the White Pheasant Hotel.
