King's Lynn Town have added a fourth new player to their ranks - after manager Adam Lakeland finally 'got his man'.

Left back Freddie Sass - who Lakeland tried to sign last season - has jumped at the opportunity to play full-time football in the National League North.

Sass, 22, has experience at Lynn's level, having joined Southport last September, before a loan spell at Macclesfield. He joined Marine in January.

"Delighted to have signed for King’s Lynn," Sass told the club's official channels.

"It’s been a goal of mine to go full-time for a while now and when the opportunity came up it was a no-brainer for me.

"After meeting with Adam, the club looks to be going in the right direction and has plans to compete at the top, which is something that attracted me to the club.

"I’m excited for the new challenge and can’t wait to get going."

Lakeland said: "He's a left back - he'll be a left wing back for us. He's a good size, he can move, he can run, he has got a good turn of pace, he can work up and down the pitch.

"He delivers good ball from wide areas when he is crossing, his delivery is very good. He has got a long throw, which will give us a different weapon at certain times in games.

"He is a player that, every time I have watched him, is fully committed. He is a player that I have liked for quite a while. I tried to get him when I was at Curzon, from Mossley, prior to him going to Southport.

"Obviously it didn't quite work out there for him - it probably didn't help with the manager who signed him leaving quite early on and he had a disrupted first half to last season.

"But I think he finished it incredibly well - he obviously played a big part in Marine getting promoted to the National League North and I am sure he will be a player who will come and give everything to the club and I am really pleased that we managed to get him over the line."

Lakeland has already signed central defender Greg Taylor, who was on loan in the second half of the season, Ross Crane, from Leiston, and Tom Wilson, who was with FC Halifax Town.
