Gabriel Sara reached 25 goal contributions last weekend as he seeks to end his stunning season with Norwich City on a high.

Only Leicester City's Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has recorded more goals and assists from central midfield than the Brazilian, who has become a pivotal player in their push for promotion via the play-offs.

Sara netted one and assisted another in their 2-2 draw over Swansea, and that individual quality may prove decisive when the margins become tighter should they reach the play-offs this weekend.

Plenty of Premier League clubs are monitoring his progress ahead of the summer window and Norwich may find it difficult to hold onto his services should they fail to gain promotion to the Premier League.

Norwich have been able to utilise Sara's football intelligence in a host of positions, from central midfield, to number ten and out wide.

He has filled in for Jon Rowe whilst he's been absent through injury and has rediscovered his attacking productivity after a rare barren run, by his high standards, earlier in the campaign.

For David Wagner, Sara is epitomised by his team-first attitude, which hasn't been impacted by the increasing amount of praise being thrown in his direction over recent performances.

"He works hard. He can easily run between 12 and 13 kilometres and has great vision. He is an outstanding player and a top professional," Wagner said after City's 2-2 draw with Swansea on Saturday.

"He always has 'team first' in his head, and it is something very special to have a player who is producing these numbers but has this in their head.

"It's a pleasure to have him in the team. You have seen how hungry and greedy he is to make something special out of this season.

"A wonderful goal and a great assist, but even him, if we are honest, if he would have shown more composure, calmness and a clean touch in the box, then he would be able to have two or three clear-cut chances.

"We haven't done this in these situations, and that's why we didn't score more goals [against Swansea]."
