Norwich City Women have announced the signing of teenage Charlotte Pernet.

The 16-year-old is a graduate of the club’s player pathway and becomes the second player to make the transition after Eloise Morran last December.

Pernet, who operates as a right-back or central midfielder, joined the Foundation aged nine before moving on to the Academy Development Programme.

“I feel very proud to have been asked to sign for Norwich City Women,” she told the club’s official website. “Having been part of the academy pathway since Under-10 age, I already knew some of the squad, but all of the girls and coaches have made me feel so welcome.

“I’m really looking forward to my future with this team."

General manager, Flo Allen, added: “Our player pathway is at the heart of our philosophy and as a football club we pride ourselves on providing opportunities for our talented young players to reach their full potential.

“We are delighted that Charlotte has become the latest graduate from our girls’ player pathway run by our foundation to join our women’s team.

“Charlotte's development has been closely monitored and she joins the squad with excellent references from her pathway coaches.

“Credit must also go to those coaches who have worked closely with Charlotte since she joined the pathway at Under-10s level.”
