A popular Christmas-themed festival is to attract thousands of people next weekend as it returns for another year.
The three-day Wells Christmas Tide Festival kicks off next Friday (November 29) with an opening from the town crier, carol singers and entertainment from the fire display team the Piratechnics.
The following day brings the festivities up a notch with face painters, stilt walkers and samba bands all taking to the streets in a jam-packed schedule running between 10.30am and 4pm.
In Staithe Street, the Wells town Christmas lights will be switched on by ITV News presenter David Whiteley at around 4.45pm, followed by a lantern parade led by Father Christmas to the quayside.
Around an hour later and accompanied by a flotilla of illuminated boats, Father Christmas will arrive in the quay to a "firework spectacular".
At 6.15pm the Santa's Grotto will officially open at the Maltings with young ones being able to send their Christmas list to Santa's elves.
St Nick will return on Sunday with a selection of gift and craft stalls open until 5pm.
