People have been injured following a four-vehicle crash on a major road.

The incident happened on the A1067 Fakenham Road at its junction with Well Lane and Lime Kiln Road in the village of Sparham.

Police, fire and ambulance services are currently at the scene and the road has been blocked in both directions.

People are known to have been injured in the collision but the extent of their injuries is not yet known.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “Three ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and a critical care vehicle were sent to the scene.

"Three patients were transported to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Police added that "the road is likely to remain closed for several hours".

The AA Traffic Map says that traffic is slow in the area.

Police remain on the scene and the incident is still ongoing.
