A man has admitted having a weapon during a violent confrontation when two hotel guests were attacked.
The men were attempting to check into a hotel in Albert Square in Great Yarmouth in the early hours when a gang of men arrived and tried to force them into a Range Rover.
Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told the pair had attempted to flee but had been dragged back to the scene and assaulted.
The incident on October 15 was captured on CCTV and Kledl Shkrell, 21, was identified as one of six men who had got out of three vehicles to confront the victims.
Footage had shown him having a chair leg, said prosecutors.
Shkrell, of St George’s Road in Norwich, pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon.
Gina Mattioli, mitigating, said his involvement had been short lived and he had not attacked the men or brandished the piece of wood.
She said a lengthy sentence was unsuitable as he was likely to leave the UK next month after overstaying his visa.
Magistrates ordered him to pay fines and costs of £365 within two weeks.
