A nightclub reveller who repeatedly punched and stamped on another man during a night out in Norwich has avoided a jail sentence.
Razzak Miah, 29, was part of a fight involving his brother and another man during a night out on Prince of Wales Road during the early hours of May 6 last year.
He had punched the other man four times and stamped on him twice as he lay on the ground, Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told.
Miah, of Hatfield Road, Ipswich, who works as an operational manager at a lawn mower manufacturer, pleaded guilty to assault.

His basis of his plea was that he had been attempting to defend his brother and that he had stamped because he feared his victim might have a knife.
He was sentenced to a 24 month community order that requires him to wear an alcohol abstinence monitoring tag and do 100 hours unpaid work.
Julie Adams, mitigating, said he had initially acted in self-defence but it had been an “overreaction that has gone too far”.
She said the incident had stemmed from an earlier incident outside a nightclub and that “alcohol played a significant factor”.
