An animal sanctuary in Norfolk is urging people to consider adopting one of its "golden oldies".

Louie the Staffie, who is 11 years old, may have a few more grey hairs than the rest but still has a lot of love to give and is keen to find his forever home. 

Kelly Smith, manager at Dogs Trust Snetterton, said: “He might be entering his golden years, but Louie is the perfect companion for someone looking for a calm, friendly, and cuddly pooch. 

"Older dogs have so much to offer. They’re often calmer, have a higher chance of being house-trained, and can be more settled."

On average, dogs spend just under 50 days in the care of Dogs Trust while they wait for their forever home but older dogs like Louie can often take much longer to rehome.

Louie is described as "lovable and friendly to people he meets" and he "wants to enjoy his golden years relaxing in a sunny garden or curled up on the sofa".
