A woman thought she had "gone blind" after liquid was thrown at her face by a man following a bust up at a friend's house, a court has heard.
The woman was one of two people who allegedly had a noxious substance thrown at her by Scott McIntosh.
The 57-year-old has gone on trial at Norwich Crown Court accused of two counts of administering a poison or noxious substance with intent.
Jurors heard the woman had the substance thrown at her from a bottle by McIntosh who she had gone to see at his home in Darrell Place, North Earlham.
It followed an earlier row at a mutual friend's house where they had all been drinking, when McIntosh had called the woman "a slapper, or words to that effect" before he left.
The male friend and the woman - who were partners at the time - went to McIntosh's to try and "sort it out" and "put it to bed".
Chris Youell, prosecuting, said when he answered the door McIntosh "squirted them with a substance".
He said the victims suffered "pain" as a result with the female victim sustaining "reddening to her eyes".
Giving evidence on Tuesday (August 27), the woman said "I thought I had gone blind" following the incident on September 4, 2021.
She said she thought the clear liquid thrown at her by McIntosh was acid.
She said: "I was scared. I've got two children.
"I thought I won't be able to see my kids".
She said her "hands were over her eyes" and she "couldn't see anything" in the aftermath of the incident which happened at about 11.50pm.
Mr Youell said police recovered bottles of Dettol and a thick bleach from McIntosh's property.
He added: "The crown say he (McIntosh) squirted something from the bottles or some kind of substance at them, causing them injury".
McIntosh, of Darrell Place, Norwich, has denied both offences.
The trial continues.
