A Tory leadership candidate visited a Norfolk village on his latest tour in an attempt to drum up support.

Yesterday, the shadow security minister Tom Tugendhat spoke to a group of Conservative party members on a trip to Bunwell, near Attleborough.

Speaking to the members, he outlined his plans if elected leader and argued that the reason for the last election loss was due to its failure to deliver what it promised, including on tax and immigration.

During the visit, Mr Tugendhat thanked members and activists for their efforts in campaigning during the last general election.

"We need to have an honest conversation about the future of our Party and how we rebuild from the ground up."

He added: " The choice ahead of us is clear: we must either draw a line under the infighting and broken promises and unite the Conservative Party so that we can win in five years time or face more defeat."
