Motorists can expect delays as an abnormal load travels at just 10mph along the A47.

New details have revealed the plans as a 270-tonne haulage truck moving two transformers through the region.

A spokesman for National Highways said: "Due to the complexity of moving an abnormal load of this size, there will be disruption on the A47 between Kings Lynn and Norwich"

In order to move the hefty load, a special vehicle measuring 16 feet in width will embark on the journey across the county.

Starting at Norwich Substation in Dunston, the convoy will move along the A1078, Grimston Road, Queen Elizabeth Way, Constitution Hill, the A47, and the A140 before joining local roads to Associated British Ports at King's Lynn Docks.

Police have also warned they may be forced to temporarily hold traffic to allow the convoy to be moved safely.

Signage may also be removed from the roadside tonight to help with the move.

Only travelling 10mph, the journey is expected to take between three and four hours.

The load is hitting roads at 8am on Sunday with drivers being warned to expect delays.
