Fleur the Romanian rescue dog is up for adoption in Norfolk

Norfolk Greyhound Rescue is looking for a happy home for sighthound Fleur who is due to arrive in the county on Thursday.

Fleur, who is believed to be one-year-old, will need either a foster space or a forever home.

She was abandoned and attacked by a pack of stray dogs (Image: Norfolk Greyhound Rescue) A spokeswoman for the charity said: "Fleur was in a terrible state when she was picked up and has some hideous wounds all over her emaciated body.

"She is great with other dogs and has been living on a farm with cats and kittens, so we do feel she is very workable."

She has been living with small dogs and kittens (Image: Norfolk Greyhound Rescue) While her exact breed is unknown, the charity says Fleur is a type of sighthound dog which covers breeds such as greyhounds, whippets and salukis. 

Sighthounds are typically lean, with deep chests and powerful legs designed for high-speed chase and come in a variety of sizes. 

She had terrible wounds on her neck (Image: Norfolk Greyhound Rescue) Fleur is being kept in a room with small dogs and kittens while she recovers to make sure she isn't attacked again.

The charity says it is unsure of how Fleur is around children as she has not interacted with any in its care.
