A 22-year-old from Thetford has been jailed after pleading guilty to multiple drug dealing offences.

Brendan Garcia, of St Albans Way, was sentenced to five and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to six offences involving cocaine and cannabis.

After gathering intelligence that suggested Garcia was responsible for running the ‘MK’ drug line, a search warrant was conducted at his home on August 9 last year.

A seized mobile phone revealed multiple bulk text messages had been sent advertising the sale of drugs.

On March 5 this year, a second search was conducted at the same address and a mobile phone, a small amount of cannabis and £500 in cash were seized.

The phone provided further evidence of Garcia’s involvement in drug supply, showing he was importing and supplying cannabis on a large scale.

He was arrested and taken to Bury St Edmund’s Police Station for questioning before being charged and remanded into custody.

Garcia was sentenced last Tuesday at Norwich Crown Court after being found guilty of two counts of possession of a Class B drug, two counts of being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug, being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug and being concerned in fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on importation of a Class B drug.

Investigating Officer PC Edward Crickitt said: “Norfolk Constabulary works hard to disrupt drug lines operating within our county.

“We are dedicated to tackling the issue of drug criminality and will continue to make Norfolk an uncomfortable place for drug dealers to operate.”
