With scorching summer weather arriving in Norfolk, where will be the hottest place in the county this week?

Norfolk is under a yellow heat health alert until Wednesday with the mercury set to rise to 30C in parts of the region according to the Met Office.

For those searching for the Mediterranean temperatures, south Norfolk is set to be the warmest.

On Tuesday afternoon Diss, Thetford and Norwich are all set to reach a blistering 30C at around 2pm - three degrees hotter than Lisbon in Portugal at the same time.

In west Norfolk places such as Downham Market and King's Lynn will see highs of 28C. 

The cooling sea breeze will keep north Norfolk notably cooler, with Cromer and Wells reaching highs of 25C.

Punters making a trip to the east coast will enjoy temperatures of around 26C with Great Yarmouth and Gorleston peaking at 3pm on Tuesday.

Although the hot weather is forecast to cool later in the week, temperatures in the mid-twenties will remain until Sunday - with a brief interlude of thunderstorms on Thursday.

Anyone planning on enjoying the sun should be warned that UV levels will remain high all week.
