A mill-turned-bed and breakfast is up for sale on the outskirts of Dereham.

Yaxham Mill was built in 1860 and was in operation for more than 60 years until the 1920s when it was converted into private accommodation.

It was later turned into a bed and breakfast which has been successful over the years with plenty of repeat customers as well as tourist bookings.

The site is being marketed with Christie and Co at an asking price of £410,000.

A two-storey building adjacent to the mill tower offers six double ensuite guest rooms and the mill tower itself offers private accommodation over six floors.

One of these floors is currently being used to serve breakfast to guests.

Simon Jackaman, director in Christie & Co’s hotels team who is handling the sale, said, “This is truly a wonderful opportunity for someone to own an established and well-trading business in a fantastic part of the region.

"Our clients are looking to retire having been in the hospitality industry for a number of years and during their ownership they have carried out numerous repairs, renovations and improvements to both the accommodation and mill tower.

"The business would ideally suit a local couple and is a relatively easy business to operate.

"Therefore, it does not require any previous experience, just enthusiasm and a desire to provide excellent service.

"The existing business model suits the current owners but in theory there remains areas where the business can grow further."
