The "collective" efforts of staff and pupils backed by "supportive" parents has been hailed after a primary school was praised by Ofsted inspectors.

Albert Pye Community Primary School is celebrating after the hard work of the entire school community - led by Rae Aldous and Louise Creed - was reflected in a Good Ofsted inspection.

The Beccles-area school - a member of The Active Learning Trust - was also rated as Good in its previous inspection in 2013.

After the inspection was carried out on June 11/12, lead Ofsted inspector Tessa Holledge found the school on Frederick’s Road, Beccles to have a "good quality of education", "good leadership and management", "good behaviour and attitudes", "good early years provision" and "good personal development" as it's "overall effectiveness" was rated as Good.

With 398 pupils aged between three and 11 attending the school, Rae Aldous, executive headteacher of The Albert Pye and Ravensmere Schools Federation expressed her pride at the inspection outcomes.

Mrs Aldous said: "We are thrilled with this rating which is thanks to the collective effort, passion, and commitment of our incredible staff, enthusiastic pupils, and supportive parents.

"Our school community has built a nurturing environment where everyone feels valued and inspired to achieve their best.

"I am immensely proud of our achievements and I am confident that we will continue to grow and thrive."

With Ofsted inspectors noting that "the school is well led," the report said that pupils are "polite and well behaved" and they "are proud to attend this school."

The report added: "They behave well. The school is a calm and happy place."

Highlighting that the school has successfully raised expectations of what pupils can achieve, the report noted a strong emphasis on building learning from the very beginning of nursery.

Ravensmere Infant School, a nearby partner school within the Albert Pye and Ravensmere Schools Federation, will relocate to the Albert Pye Primary School site in time for the new school year on September 5.
