A dog wearing a dirty muzzle has been found tied to a post after being abandoned.
The male German Shepherd was discovered sitting alone on a concrete ground, leashed up to a metal gate and wearing a muzzle.
He was found by a passer-by in Martham on Thursday who contacted the Animal Warden Services.
A warden visited the site and the dog was taken into the care of the local council.
With no tag or information about the owner, it is unknown how long the dog had been tied to the post or why he was abandoned.
A spokesman for Great Yarmouth Borough Council said: ‘’We received reports on Thursday, July 11, that a German Shepherd dog had been found tied to a post in Martham.
"Our contractor, Animal Warden Services, retrieved the dog and it is currently being cared for in kennels."
"If anyone has any information about the animal they are asked to telephone our contractor on 01493 800697.’’
Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
