From tipis at a wedding venue to a new housing development - here are five public notices to be aware of in Norfolk this week.

1) Housing development in Scratby

An application, made by Beach House Developments Ltd, which hoped to knock down a home on Beach Road in Scratby and build nine more has been rejected.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council has rejected the plans due to it "conflicts with the aims of sustainable development" as the council has a vision of trying to "minimise the need to travel".

It also stated the design of the buildings "fails to have a positive relationship" with others within the parish.

2) Claims to the estate of David Francis Perkins

Anyone having a claim against or an interest in the estate of David Francis Perkins of Norfolk & Norwich Association for the Blind, Thomas Tawell House, 106 Magpie Road, Norwich, who died on July 19 2022, is asked to send a written notice to the address below on or before September 11.

After this date, the estate will be distributed as per the notices received.

3) Bridge repairs on Costessey Lane

Costessey Lane will be closed for repairs at Costessey Mill Bridge from July 22 to July 25.

The Norfolk County Council work will cost £10,000 and involves relaying coping stones and brickwork repair.

A full road closure is required to maintain a safe working area during the project.

4) New homes approved for Framlingham Earl

South Norfolk Council has approved a scheme for four new homes to be built in Long Road in Framingham Earl.

Plans for the development involve the demolition of a former detached cottage and garages on the site, changing the access point for the homes and building a new driveway leading to four new detached houses with garages. 

The plans have been submitted by the Loddon-based company Grandstand Developments, which has now fenced off the site in preparation for the building work.

5) Bertie's Barn Tipi's

Tipi's at Bertie's Barn, in Keswick, near Norwich, was set up by Spencer and Lea Hood as a seasonal events space on a 1.2-acre plot in 2022.

It currently operates under a temporary events licence that states the tents can only be assembled for 28 days a year.

The Hoods are now applying to retain the space throughout the summer season without having to take down the tents, as well as keeping its 40-space car park open during the three months.
