A home has been partially closed down by police following ongoing issues with anti-social behaviour.

The closure in Lancaster Road in Swaffham was carried out by Breckland’s Operational Partnership Team after complaints about late night parties, drug and alcohol abuse, fighting and abusive language.

The team have been working with partner agencies including Sage Homes and Breckland District Council to address ongoing concerns at the address.

Officers attended Norwich Magistrates' Court on Wednesday to seek a closure order under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

The order has been granted for three months, making it a criminal offence for anyone unauthorised to be inside the property.

Inspector Simon Jones, Breckland Neighbourhood Policing Inspector, said: “We know that anti-social behaviour can have a significant negative impact on people living nearby.

"The Operational Partnership team have worked hard to get this closure order which will have a lasting positive impact on the lives of those people in and around Lancaster Road.”
