A husband and wife team are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their barn wedding venue business this month. 

Matthew, 48, and Jenny Stevenson, 42, took over Hunters Hall wedding venue near Swanton Morley in July 2014. 

The Victorian barn set up for a wedding breakfast (Image: Hunters Hall) Both had backgrounds in hospitality and met working in hotels before moving back to Norfolk to open the business which hosts around 70 weddings a year.

Set on a secluded former farm, the business has three function rooms and offers all-inclusive weddings with catering and bar staff included.

The Stevensons say they have created a successful destination wedding venue by not only carrying out lots of renovations but also by making sure they have consistently evolved and adapted the business to changing tastes and trends.

Mrs Stevenson said: "We really enjoy what we do and we’re very lucky to be involved in such a lovely business.

"It’s amazing to go on that journey with the couple and see all the planning come together.

Unsurprisingly, their most difficult challenge over the last decade was the coronavirus pandemic which had a significant impact on the industry as weddings were either heavily restricted or completely banned.

Luckily, most of the couples opted to postpone, resulting in a very busy year of business in 2022.

The couple has also diversified by hiring the venue for events such as Christmas dos, birthday parties and local charity and community events.

Mrs Stevenson also credits their success to being a small, family-run company with friendly, local staff members. 

She added: "We always have great feedback about our staff, we have a fantastic team.
