A former city plumber died on the way to hospital after sustaining a traumatic injury to his head, a court has heard.
An inquest into the death of Francis Grady, of Barclay Road in Heartsease, was opened on July 2.
Norfolk Coroner’s Court, based at County Hall, heard brief details of how the 89-year-old died.
The senior coroner for Norfolk, Jacqueline Lake, said: “Mr Grady died on route to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on June 21.”
The primary medical cause of death was given as “traumatic head injury” and a full inquest to determine the official cause will take place later in the year in November.
Mrs Lake also confirmed that Mr Grady had been born in Norwich on January 20, 1935, and had been retired when he died.
