Three people and a dog were rescued by a lifeboat crew after they were cut off by the incoming tide.
Wells RNLI were called out by HM Coastguard after the group became stranded on Saturday evening.
The group were completely surrounded by water on the sandbar to the west of the Wells harbour entrance.
The inshore lifeboat Peter Wilcox was launched just after 5pm with newly qualified Gary Yarham at the helm for his first call out as helmsman.

The volunteer crew of three quickly located the casualties due to good visibility and helped the people and the dog aboard.
The walkers were transferred to Holkham Bay and into the care of the local Coastguard team.
All were unharmed and medical assistance was not required.
