A charity that supports children, young people and families across Norfolk and Suffolk is set to open one of the largest stores it runs across the region in a coastal town.

It will be the organisation's seventh store regionally, with its first store in Lowestoft becoming "one of the largest" it operates across both counties.

Local charity, The Benjamin Foundation, will open the new furniture and electrical warehouse store in Lowestoft at Unit 17 Phoenix Enterprise Park on July 22.

Based at Phoenix Enterprise Park on Phoenix Road in south Lowestoft, a spokesman for the charity said: "The store will stock a wide range of pre-loved and new furniture, refurbished and new appliances and much more, with funds raised helping to support young people across Norfolk and Suffolk."

The new store is also set to offer free delivery and collection services.

The spokesman said: "People are encouraged to donate good quality furniture and electrical items by calling the store on 01502 817011 from July 22, to discuss booking a free collection.

"Customers can also access the takeback scheme for functioning or faulty appliances, taking away your old unit free of charge with the purchase of a new one (subject to terms and conditions)."

Paul Sinclair, operations manager at The Benjamin Foundation, said: "Our new store will be the seventh store and one of the largest across the region.

"We are delighted to be able to offer people in Lowestoft the opportunity to buy well priced, good quality, pre-loved and new goods at high street beating prices."

With the new store set to offer a number of full-time with permanent employment options, alongside volunteer opportunities for people in Lowestoft and the surrounding area, Mr Sinclair added: "We will also have a number of volunteering opportunities at the store so if you want be involved then please come and say hi and help us support people in your local area."

More than 3,000 young people, children and families across Norfolk and Suffolk have been supported by The Benjamin Foundation to overcome challenges in their lives.
