A Norfolk skip hire firm has been taken over by a Suffolk-based waste management group.

SunEnviro group, based in Stowmarket, has announced it has acquired Pips Skips, a family-run skip hire business based in Dereham for more than 25 years.

Mat Stewart, managing director of SunEnviro, said: “We're thrilled to welcome Pips Skips to the SunEnviro family.

Since it was formed in 2020, starting with Sun Skips in Stowmarket, SunEnviro has expanded across the east of England, adding waste management sites in Cambridge, Haverhill, Ipswich and Hoddesdon.

The group also offers demolition services through SunDemolition and will soon launch SunAggregates, a new aggregate and soil washing plant which is set to open in Thetford.

SunEnviro has said jobs at Pips Skips will remain safe.

Pips Skips has a fleet of 25 lorries in its distinctive red and yellow livery and more than 1,500 skips.
