Police investigations are continuing into the death of a serving officer found dead inside a house just five minutes drive from the constabulary’s headquarters. 

Martin Scott’s body was discovered by his partner at a home in Clements Avenue, Wymondham, a pre-inquest review heard. 

Speaking at the brief hearing held at Norfolk Coroner’s Court, area coroner Samantha Goward said: “Mr Scott was found by his partner and work colleagues, who had been concerned for his welfare. 

“He was then sadly found by his partner in a bedroom hanging. He was cut down and CPR commenced. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

“There are some on-gong police investigations and therefore the matter is not yet ready for inquest so we will keep it under review.”

Mr Scott, of Hellesdon, was aged 35 and his tragic death was the second of two Norfolk police officers who both died in the space of two weeks. 

At the time of his death, police confirmed that he was being investigated in relation to misconduct allegations off duty and was on restricted duties but was not suspended.

His passing, on July 13 last year, came a fortnight after Richard Dennis, another serving officer, was found dead in his home in Ingoldisthorpe, near King's Lynn. 

Norfolk Police have referred the cases to the Independent Office for Police Conduct and are reviewing their internal processes.

Following Mr Scott's death, a Go Fund Me page was set up in his memory, raising more than £7,500. 

Ms Goward adjourned the hearing for another pre-inquest review on September 11.
