An inquest has opened into the death of a Norfolk law graduate who died almost a week after being reported missing.
Mitchell 'Mitch' Thornton was found unresponsive in a wooded area off Doddenham Way in Bowthorpe two months ago. He was just 24.
On Wednesday, an inquest was opened at Norfolk Coroner's Court at which tragic details of his death were confirmed.
The court heard Mr Thornton, who studied on the UEA campus through the University of Law, had died as a result of toxicity of a prescription medication.
Area coroner Yvonne Blake confirmed the former student had been born in Norwich and died in Bowthorpe on April 13.
He had last contacted his mother, Maxine Frost, on Tuesday April 9 via text message, just four days before he died.
His disappearance sparked widespread searches and appeals on social media, before his body was discovered by Lowland Search and Rescue team.
Following his death, his loved ones rallied to raise more than £6,000 towards the cost of his memorial - while hundreds passed on their condolences.
Mrs Blake adjourned the hearing until 2pm on December 3.
