Dan Holley to leave BBC Look East for Met Office in Devon

Dan Holley has become a familiar face as part of the BBC Look East team for 11 years.

But the meteorologist is preparing to leave his Norwich home for a new position at the Met Office in Devon.

After the best part of 13 years at @weatherquest_uk and 11 years at @BBCLookEast, I'm moving on to pastures new this summer and joining the @metoffice.

He shared the news in a statement which said: "After the best part of 13 years at Weatherquest and 11 years at BBC Look East, I'm moving on to pastures new this summer and joining the Met Office as deputy chief meteorologist.

"I've had such a fantastic time working with some brilliant colleagues over the years and am incredibly grateful for all the opportunities and support along the way, without which I wouldn't be where I am today.

"From learning about and helping different industries navigate through hazardous weather conditions, to fulfilling a childhood ambition of presenting the weather on TV, it's been an absolute blast and I've loved every minute."

He added that after living in Norfolk for nearly half his life "it may take some time getting used to actual hills down in Devon".
