New electric car charging points are set to be installed at a busy retail park.

Instavolt has been given planning permission for four rapid vehicle charging stations in the car park of the St Nicholas Retail Park, at King's Lynn.

A planning officer's report said: "There will be no adverse impact on neighbouring properties as a result of this proposal.

"These works are relatively small scale and there are no residential properties within close proximity of the development."

Some five parking spaces would be lost at the retail park, near the port off Edward Benefer Way.

But the planning report added "The public and environmental benefit of the provision of five EV charging bays is considered to outweigh the loss of five standard car parking spaces."

In its application, Instavolt said installing the equipment would take a week.
