Plans for a campsite have been turned down over road safety fears.

Phillip Foster has been refused planning permission for a campsite for caravans and tents off Long Road at Terrington St Clement, near King's Lynn.

A planning officer's report said: "The unclassified roads serving the site are considered to be inadequate to serve the proposed camping site business, by reason of their poor alignment, restricted width and lack of passing provision.

"The proposal, if permitted, would therefore be likely to give rise to conditions detrimental to highway safety."

The report added plans for an equestrian business on the same site were turned down for the same reason in 2018.

An appeal against the decision was also turned down because the development "would cause unacceptable harm to highway safety".

Terrington Parish Council objected. It said: "This proposal would generate more traffic than the proposed equestrian centre."
