There was a police presence in Wymondham as officers hunted a man who was seen with a knife.
Three police cars and a police van were pictured parked in Fairland Street just after 1am on Thursday.
A Norfolk Constabulary spokeswoman said: "Police were called to Curlew Crescent following reports of a man with a knife.
"Officers attended the scene and completed an extensive area search.
"No one matching the description could be found."
