It is illegal to sell smoking and vaping products to anyone aged under 18 - but some young people have reported that this has not stopped shopkeepers from serving them.

In the 2021 Action on Smoking and Health survey, 22.1pc of young people aged 11 to 17 said they had bought vapes from newsagents, compared to 16.3pc who bought them from supermarkets and 22.1pc who bought them online.

Police urge people to report any information about the illicit sales of nicotine products by calling 101, completing an online form or contacting Crimestoppers.
