Part of a pub's restaurant could be converted into holiday lets.

Fenland Council has received plans for new accommodation at the Oliver Twist at Guyhirn, near Wisbech.

A planning statement says: "The proposal involves the change of use of part of the restaurant area of the existing Oliver Twist to form four units of holiday accommodation.

"It will allow for the diversification of the business to help to sustain the existing village pub and restaurant."

It adds while part of the restaurant will be lost, a bar and restaurant area will remain and further tourist accommodation will be provided in the village.

"This would be of significant benefit to the local economy, thereby providing a wider sustainability benefit," it concludes.

A decision is expected later this year.
