Every category finalist in the EDP Business Awards 2024 will have a chance to claim the coveted title of Norfolk Business of the Year.
The award is once again sponsored by Barclays Corporate Banking, which has supported the EDP Business Awards for a number of years.
“Barclays Corporate Banking has a proud history in Norfolk and takes real pride in being able to support of one of the biggest business events in the county,” said Steven Brown, head of East Anglia at Barclays Corporate Banking.
“The 2023 entrants showcased the region’s success stories across the full range of business sectors, so I’m really looking forward to meeting the 2024 entrants.”
When it comes to selecting a winner, Mr Brown said he will be “looking for the business that has gone the extra mile”.
“This might be through the innovation of its product, the development of its people or perhaps its approach to its environmental impact.”
He added that sustainability “can be considered in many forms, including environmental aspects as well as social and economic considerations, such as workplace diversity and supporting skills growth”.
“We recognise the importance of sustainability to businesses going forward, regardless of the sector a business operates within, and a growing expectation of how small businesses are playing their part in tackling climate change,” said Mr Brown.
A firm’s environmental credentials can also have a direct influence on its reputation in the wider community, he explained.
“Businesses have a responsibility to consider their impact on wider community and environment because they do not exist in isolation. They rely on the support and resources of the community in which they operate.
“Businesses need to build strong relationships, enhance reputation, attract customers and employees in order to create a positive legacy.”
Mr Brown said the title of Business of the Year “is a recognition of commercial success, resilience and innovation”.
