Entries are now open for the Large Business of the Year award at the Eastern Daily Press Business Awards 2024.
This year, the category is sponsored by Ensors Chartered Accountants, which recently opened a new office in Norwich city centre.
The award is open to companies whose annual turnover exceeds £5 million.
Jamie Waller, category judge and director at Ensors, said: “In considering the entry evidence criteria, a strong large business will be able to demonstrate high performance against every point, and from all people that work together across the business, not just those at the very top.”
He added that it would be a credit to any business to be shortlisted and recognised for such a well renowned award.
“The exposure and brand awareness are value in itself, but having the opportunity to celebrate your achievements with your team is an added bonus.
“Business success in this region relies a lot on word of mouth and repeat business. Demonstrating your excellence with such a prestigious award generates a very strong reputation in the local market.”
Any company entering this category should be able to demonstrate a genuine commitment to sustainable business practices, said Mr Waller.
“Customers, suppliers and employees are all now looking at large companies’ individual impact on the environment,” he explained. “Sustainability and energy usage are starting to be used as measures for business performance as much as financial metrics.”
Mr Waller will also be looking for entrants that actively recognise and reward employee achievements.
“It’s important for employees to understand the how their work and actions contribute to the success of the business as a whole,” he said. “Recognition reinforces that link and helps them to be more connected to their work, their peers or senior management.”
The entry deadline for the Large Business of the Year award entries is Sunday, July 28.
