A nursery that closed suddenly due to the collapse of its parent company will be turned into a dog day care centre.
Proposals to transform the former Magic Tree Day Nursery in Dereham have been given the green light by Breckland Council.
Parents were left in the lurch last year after childcare provider Alpha Nurseries, which ran the centre, announced it would be closing all of its sites.
The Ipswich-based company provided nursery and after-school childcare at 22 sites across seven counties, including three in Norfolk.

The vacant Magic Tree Day Nursery will now be turned into a dog day care facility, open from 6am to 9pm on weekdays and 9am to 5pm on weekends.
There will be up to 20 dogs on-site during these hours.
The nursery at 35 Yaxham Road closed in December along with Safe Hands Day Nursery in Diss and The Willows Day Nursery in Downham Market.
Gerard Dooley, managing director of Alpha Nurseries, said the closure of the company was due to its "financial position".
