A woman has been charged with being drunk and disorderly after a large police presence in Dereham - including a riot van being seen circling the town.

Police confirmed officers were sent to Westfield Lane in Toftwood just after 3pm on Tuesday following reports of a domestic incident.

A woman aged in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of assault, harassment and being drunk and disorderly.

She was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Emma Duthie, 46, of Meadow Lane, Sudbury, Suffolk, has been subsequently charged with being drunk and disorderly.

She has been released on bail and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on June 17.
