As the "mini-heatwave" continues and summer is just around the corner, here is a list of five award-winning beaches that are worth paying a visit to this weekend.
1. Sheringham
Sheringham was named one of the best places to live by The Sunday Times this year.
The traditional seaside town was praised by the publication as a "sweet spot on the Norfolk coast" with a "blue flag beach and serious social scene".
2. Brancaster
Brancaster was named among the 20 greatest beaches in Britain by The Telegraph.
The beach was praised as "perfect for shell-collecting, kite-flying, sand-castling, horse-riding and dog walking”.
3. Holkham
Holkham came second in a list of the 34 best beaches in the UK by TimeOut.
The article stated it was "best for feeling a million miles away from civilisation" and "easily one of the best-looking beaches in the UK".
4. Cromer
Cromer was named in the same list as TimeOut, described as "refreshingly" untouched by the "usual seaside tourist tat".
It was praised by TimeOut as the "best for reliving your childhood and parading down a pier".
5. Gorleston-on-Sea
Gorleston-on-Sea has been listed as the seventh-best beach in the UK according to Tripadvisor reviews.
It has remained high on the list after receiving a Travellers' Choice Award in 2023.
The beach is described on the Tripadvisor website as: "A stunning bay with a huge, wide curving, sandy beach."
