Bumble Barn B&B in Tunstead wins Four in a Bed on Channel 4

Paul Grothier, owner of The Bumble Barn in Tunstead, and his manageress Debbie Sheridan featured in episodes broadcast this week.

The Channel Four show sees B&B owners across the country stay at each other’s establishments and pay what they think their stay is worth, with the winner being named the best value for money. 

Paul and Debbie's competitors from Lancashire, North Yorkshire and Lincolnshire stayed in Norfolk in Thursday night's episode and the pair were crowned the winners in Friday's payment day show.

They formed good relationships with their fellow castmates and were highly praised for the quality of their hospitality.

Paul's only conflict was with Joe from Lincolnshire, who criticised his breakfast in the Bumble Barn guest feedback form.

Paul took his comments personally, being a chef whose food received glowing praise from all other visitors, which caused tension at the payment table on Friday.

He also received some feedback about the cleanliness of his accommodation but branded them "untrue" and said he still really enjoyed the experience of being on the show.

"We didn't set out to win, we just wanted to be ourselves and show off what we have to offer," he said.

"Every part of the process was great - the only thing we struggled with was being picky with other peoples' businesses.

"I just tried to think what I would do if the place were mine and how we would improve it.

"I've already spoken to Joe off the show - and Ste, who's actually coming down next week to make me one of his famous omelettes.

"There's only friendship between us.

"The response has been really positive so far, apart from a couple.

"I will say that if people think our toilets are dirty - especially when we are going on national TV - they are mistaken!"
