A major development in a growing suburb could still go ahead despite the company behind it going bust.
Wellington Construction's plans to build 104 properties in Bradwell were thrown into disarray after the Lowestoft-based firm went into liquidation in November last year.
It had hoped to build 29 properties on land off Kings Drive and Majoram Road in Bradwell and a further 75 homes on land south of Meadowland Drive.
But despite the company falling into liquidation, Great Yarmouth Borough Council is still due to decide whether or not to approve the two schemes.
This is due to the landowner wanting to continue to progress with the proposals, which have caused controversy among locals and have received 97 letters of opposition from villagers.
People have complained about the extra traffic it will bring to the surrounding roads and the loss of green spaces.
However, it is looking likely that the larger development of 75 homes will be turned down after officers recommended it is rejected.

A lack of affordable housing, insufficient flood mitigation measures and a lack of funding to support schools and community resources in the area have been highlighted as reasons to block the bid by Great Yarmouth Borough Council officials.

But the smaller scheme could see a different fate after being recommended for approval.
The two developments will be discussed at a development management committee meeting next week.
Wellington Construction was one of the biggest construction firms operating in the region.
The company decided to wind up on November 9, 2023, and called in the liquidators, employing the service of Hayley Watson and Andrew McTear, both of McTear Williams and Wood Limited.
It led to the loss of 51 jobs and cast doubt over the future of several housing projects in Norfolk and Suffolk.
