A Norfolk village could soon be home to new businesses after plans were lodged to create two new commercial units.
The owners of Tamarind Indian restaurant in Blofield Heath have made a bid for two new shops to be constructed in an unused part of their site.
The business in Woodbastwick Road had previously been granted permission by Broadland Council to build one commercial unit and a takeaway reception space for the existing restaurant.
However, the new plans would see both units used as shops, with a one-bedroom flat on the first floor of each building.

Concerns were raised about the original proposal not including sufficient car-parking space, leaving shop customers to park on the main road or junction opposite.
The owners insist this will not be an issue as the new businesses will have different opening hours to the restaurant.
The units would be open between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday, 9am and 5pm on a Saturday and 10am and 4pm on a Sunday.
The restaurant owners say the lettable commercial units will "add value" to the village and create new jobs in the area.
Another recent attempt to create a new business in Blofield Heath led to a major row after neighbours lodged objections to plans to open a doggy daycare centre in the village.
The council rejected the plans following the uproar.
