The inquest into a woman who died hours after being sent home from an out-of-hours GP service has been adjourned.
Julia Hunt, 63, died at the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston from injuries including a bleed on the brain.
She had undergone treatment for injuries she suffered in a fall while visiting a friend on May 15.
At the inquest opening on May 22, the court heard her death came about after she had been admitted to the hospital.
She collapsed just hours after she had been seen by the out-of-hours GP service, also located at the James Paget.
Norfolk’s area coroner, Samantha Goward, said: “She was taken to hospital to be checked but was discharged without a scan.
“She was found unresponsive the same day and returned to hospital but did not recover."
The retired sales assistant, of Beccles Road, Gorleston, died on May 16.
Norfolk Coroner's Court at County Hall, Norwich, was told a post-mortem had found her cause of death was partly the result of traumatic injuries and cerebral haemorrhage.
The inquest was due to take place on December 5, but had to be adjourned as the coroner was awaiting further information regarding Ms Hunt’s medical care at the hospital.
An inquest is now set to take place at noon at the court on December 21.
