Mobilityways has been named winner of the Employer of the Year award, sponsored by Indigo Swan, at the Eastern Daily Press Business Awards 2023.
Based in Norwich, Mobilityways is a tech-led social enterprise on a mission to make zero carbon commuting a reality.
The business builds climate tech that empowers large employers to measure, reduce and report their Scope 3 commuter emissions.
Often overlooked, commuting emissions are now increasingly under the spotlight, with many organisations setting ambitious net zero targets. However, these targets cannot be met unless commuting emissions are measured and addressed.
The Mobilityways suite of software tools are the only software solution dedicated to decarbonising the commute, providing full visibility of commuting challenges and identifying sustainable travel alternatives for employees.
The Liftshare solution, part of this suite of tools, has powered car-sharing communities for hundreds of the UK’s large employers and local authorities for over two decades.
The judges said the leadership team at Mobilityways is “leading from the front in being a human-centric business”, adding that “they have raised the bar so high here in Norfolk with how they have embedded a fantastic positive culture that you can feel when you are in their business”.
They felt that, with regular staff meetings that continue to embed the business’ collaborative goals and mission, “it is no wonder Mobilityways’ bottom line is increasing year on year”.
Mobilityways head of operation Kate Wood said: “We feel extremely proud to win the EDP Business Awards Employer of the Year. It is testimony to our fantastic team and all their talent and hard work.
"The team at Mobilityways is central to the success of the business and we are determined to retain and build upon this purpose-driven culture which invests in our team like the company depends on it - because it really does.”
She added that, moving forward, Mobilityways “will be making significant investments into people and the product, passionate to remain the employer of choice for our team and future employees. We cannot wait to see our Mobilityways ‘CLUB’ grow from strength to strength!”
The other finalists for the Employer of the Year award were Breakwater IT, Holkham Estate and Richardsons Leisure.
