The finalists for the EDP Business Awards 2023 have been announced, with businesses across the region receiving recognition for their hard work.
Here, we find out more about this year's Growth Business of the Year finalists, a category sponsored by Ashtons Legal.
Azure Outdoor Living
Based in Dereham, Azure Outdoor Living is a nationwide creator of outdoor living areas and an expert in architectural aluminium and glazing.
With projects ranging from a single window or door to complete property developments, the business installs across the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and even western Europe.
The judges were impressed with the innovation of the products that Azure is selling and said “there’s clearly a niche market for Azure that they have already made great inroads into.”
They also felt that the business has “tapped into its values and mission to provide high-quality products and matching service, no matter the scale or complexity of the job”.
Comm-Tech Voice and Data
Comm-Tech Voice and Data is an award-winning business communications provider which works to integrate comms, connectivity, IT and data security efficiently for businesses.
The business enrols all staff on suitable training to ensure they can provide balanced advice to customers. Training is also provided for business security, cyber awareness and industry-standard certifications on products like Microsoft, CompTIA, Apple, AWS and GCP.
The judges were very impressed with the “obvious” and “high-speed” turnaround in the company’s financial position and said that it “demonstrated very well” how it is supporting its customers to navigate the challenges that new technologies create. They added that they look forward to seeing “the future sustainability of this business”.
Pure Physiotherapy
With clinics across East Anglia, Pure helps more than 50,000 patients per month to manage pain, feel better and recover from injury.
The business employs over 100 East Anglian based physiotherapists and support staff.
It is the biggest partner to the NHS in the East of England, with its first contact physiotherapists supporting the majority of GP surgeries in Norfolk, and it has also been asked to support national NHS organisations.
The judges said that Pure “scored consistently well” across all of the judging criteria and noted its “great efforts” to grow through diversification.
They also praised Pure’s “incredible growth in an area that will benefit so many people while also seeking to benefit and protect the NHS”.
Sekura Mobile Intelligence
Founded in 2019, Sekura Mobile Intelligence is a global mobile identity company based in Aylsham. It works directly with mobile network operators in six continents, handling the subscriber data of up to 2.5 billion of their customers securely and with full data compliance.
With a range of services available from Sekura’s innovative Sekura API Framework (SAFr) platform, the business offers many types of protection for its customers, for example against SIM swap frauds and other scam frauds in real time.
The judges noted Sekura’s impressive financial growth, “which is clearly on a very steep trajectory”, as well as its innovation of product thanks to the SAFr security platform which they said “is disrupting traditional verification and user recognition methods”.
