A 100-year-old former airline pilot from Norwich died after injuring his head during a fall, a court was told.
At the opening into the death of William Harnett, it heard how the centenarian died earlier this month at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital in Colney.
Mr Harnett had also been diagnosed with dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
The inquest opening took place at Norfolk Coroner’s Court at County Hall, Norwich, on Thursday, September 7.
Senior coroner, Jacqueline Lake, confirmed that Mr Harnett’s wife had identified the body of her husband.

Mrs Lake also revealed Mr Harnett’s particulars which included that he was born on May 6, 1923, in Ireland and lived on Eaton Road. He died on Sunday, September 3.
His medical cause of death was given as frailty of old age following a fall and head injury.
