The family of a mother-of-three has paid tribute to their “shy and bubbly” daughter after she was found dead at her home by her eldest son. 

At an inquest into the death of Rebecca Lennox, known as Becky, the court heard how the 36-year-old died after consuming morphine.

She was found on Friday, December 9, at Caxton Court, off Winston Churchill Drive, King’s Lynn, where medical professionals confirmed that she had passed away. 

In a statement read out at Norfolk Coroner’s Court at County Hall, Norwich, on Wednesday, August 23, her mother, Julie Lennox, paid tribute to her daughter. 

She described her as “a quiet little girl, quite shy, but happy” and added that she “loved her children and remained close to them".

The inquest was led by assistant coroner Christopher Leach. 

Summing up the evidence given at the court, Mr Leach revealed how Miss Lennox’s GP stated that she had “a tragic life”. 

The court heard how her father died by suicide when she was aged 17 and she suffered from alcoholism, depression and chronic pain.

She was found deceased on her sofa. 

The medical cause of death was given as respiratory depression and drug toxicity from morphine and anxiety medication. A contributing factor in her death was alcohol liver disease. Morphine is a pain killer.

The court also heard how she suffered from chronic back and knee pain, the latter a result from an attack in 2019, as well as a painful skin condition. 

Mr Leach recorded a conclusion of a “drug-related death”.   

Miss Lennox’s funeral took place at Mintlyn Crematorium on Monday, January 16 where donations were raised for the charity, One to One Project. 

Rebecca Dawn Lennox was born on March 10, 1986, in King's Lynn.
