The farewell flypast to mark the retirement of the Hercules from RAF service is taking place tomorrow.

Three Hercules aircraft will pass over all four nations of the UK from 10am to 5pm on Wednesday, June 14.

Beginning at their current home of RAF Brize Norton at 10am, the Hercules will travel north to RAF Cosford, RAF Valley, FS Aldergrove and RAF Lossiemouth.

They will then move south over RAF Cranwell, Cambridge Airport, RAF Mildenhall and the Colchester Garrison.

Those in west Norfolk and west Suffolk may be able to see the flypast overhead between 2.55pm and 3.15pm.

The trio will then pass over MOD Lyneham, Defence Academy of the UK and RAF Halton before returning to RAF Brize Norton at 5.05pm.

The first Hercules arrived in the UK in 1999 and the aircraft have since supported military and humanitarian relief operations.

The RAF has been transitioning from Hercules to the 22-strong Atlas (A400) fleet and other air mobility aircraft.

The Hercules will continue to support UK defence objectives until June 30.
