The novelist’s visit was prompted by the publication of the latest Dr Ruth Galloway book.
St Mary the Virgin, which lies on the outskirts of the village of Weeting, near Brandon, features as the main image of The Last Remains.

The striking image of the round-towered building appears on the front cover and Elly – whose real name is Domenica de Rosa – visited it as part of a countywide tour to launch her new book.
Reverend Canon Joan Horan, the rector at St Mary's, said she was pleased that the visit had "generated a great deal of community interest.”
Ms de Rosa also met pupils from Weeting Church of England Primary and presented pupils with signed copies of her children’s series, A Girl Called Justice, to donate to the school.
