To coincide with the launch of the new film - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by JK Rowling (released on November 18) two owls from the Fritton Owl Sanctuary made a swooping visit to Southwold Bookshop.

The event held on Saturday, November 19, proved to be a real hoot with attendees of all ages enjoying the opportunity to meet Fluke the barn owl and Shadow the tawny owl.

Mark Weston, owner of Fritton Owl Sanctuary, said: 'It has been really successful- it's all about getting the message out there about what we do and getting people up, close and personal with the owls.

'It has been lovely to see their reactions especially when many don't believe they are real until they move.'

Attendees of all ages also enjoyed perusing and purchasing various owl themed crafts being sold by the volunteer ran owl rescue sanctuary which cares for more than 20 owls.

Steph Burridge, from Southwold Bookshop, added: 'We are really pleased to highlight what the sanctuary is doing and to raise their profile - its just wonderful.

'They bring a magical atmosphere to the shop and our customers have really enjoyed meeting and interacting with their fantastic beasts!'
