RON BAKER

BAKER RON We are sad to announce the passing of Ron Baker, a treasured husband, dad, brother, son, and friend to many. Ron was a cricketer, a rugby player, a photographer, a percussionist, a poet, an artist, a winemaker, a carpenter, a referee, a roadie, a founding member of the Plastic Bag Club, a gardener, a butcher's assistant, host of the Hethersett Christmas Morning Drinks, and the founder of the Knickerbocker Glory Club. He touched so many people's lives: running church Youth Clubs, a drumming member of the Singing Fellowship, enjoying a latte and cake in Wymondham or Norwich after shopping for the perfect card or just chatting and singing to you on the bus to brighten your day. Living life with a permanent smile. He loved a bargain at a Car Boot Sale and collected old cameras and CDs. But above all, he collected friends. Wherever he went. And if you were a friend of Ron Baker, you were part of his family. His home was not a place for things, it was a place for sharing, mischief, love, laughter and fun it was a harbour from the outside world. For those that are part of his extended family, we will all miss him and feel his loss, but we will also think of the fun and the love, and smile. If you'd like to help us celebrate his life, Ron's funeral will be held at Hethersett Methodist Church on Thursday, October 17th, 2024, at 11 a.m. We ask that you wear whatever you feel comfortable in, but, as he loved them so much, a fun tie would be appreciated. The family have requested no flowers, but if you would like to make a donation, please consider donating to the East Anglian Air Ambulance or Prostate Cancer UK via www.ivanfisher.co.uk. Any enquiries to Ivan Fisher Independent Funeral Home Tel. 01603 810022.
